We've all heard how important it is for our continued good health to eat properly, exercise, drink plenty of water, and get the right amount of sleep.
But it's equally important to become aware of how we speak to ourselves, both silently and aloud.
I used to know a woman who would announce at the first hint of cooler weather that flu season was coming and that she got sick every year. Interestingly enough, she usually did. There was someone else I knew who, as he aged and found he was having more difficulty recalling words and names, would make a comment about how his memory was shot.
