Happiness is Healthy for You!

We’ve all heard the old adage, “Laughter is the best medicine.”  But have you ever stopped to consider why that might be?

Physically you’re healthier when you’re happier because your body is releasing neurotransmitters and hormones like endorphins, serotonin, dopamine and oxytocin. 
 
Endorphins relieve physical pain.  Serotonin stimulates feelings of happiness and makes you more social.  Dopamine causes you to feel better about yourself, especially when you’re working toward achieving a goal.
